Abstract: In the present papers the example of multipurpose control system and mobile robot development is presented. The mobile robot and control system are developed for control algorithms research on the basis of small scientific laboratory. In the presented project the mobile robot is developed on the basis of radio-controlled toy car by QUNXING Company. This platform is big enough to
place sensors and elements of the control system. The control system is based on the PC and microcontroller PIC16F628 and could
be used not only with mobile robot control but also for smart house development.

Abstract: Some of the toy robots exhibit very intelligent behaviour. This is because they are animal or human like. Examples are: the AIBO robot dog of SONY or human like toy robots QRIO, HOAP, ASIMO. In the paper we review those above and some other popular intelligent toy robots. We outline some of the toy robot research works in Hungary. Many of the toy robot features can be recognized without having expensive and difficult to reach hardware using software devices like WEBOTS of Cyberbotics which allows simulating and developing control programs for real robots.

Abstract: The presented papers are devoted to the 3D scanning of the material objects, using anthropomorphic 6DoF industrial manipulator and laser range meter. The solution presented in the article can be used in any present automated manufacturing facility because of its considerable low price and reasonable precision.

The question of precision is not described in the papers, as we tried to provide the reasonable solution for rather expensive area of 3D scanning. Mostly, present solutions which are offered by different companies are rather expensive and precise but for most of them scanning is made by 1,2 or 3Dof mechanisms which makes difficult, some times uncomfortable and impossible to scan big material objects. Our solution provides an opportunity to perform scanning of big material objects and even perform 3D scanning of the surfaces which are difficult to reach.
